Its Friday and you know what that means?! Its time for another strain review! I was going to review a totally different strain this week but I’m too excited about this one to wait. So lets dive in!
This week’s strain review is focused on “Alion” by Old Pal. I’m determined to try everything they make because as companies go, they make a great product and it’s the least expensive option around. I cant help that I’m frugal, and at $90 for a half O you really cant beat that even if you’re buying in the street. And Old Pal doesn’t present as $90 Cannabis either, their presentation is wonderful and its actually really good bud.
Ok, Ok, Ill stop gushing, lets get into this shall we?
“Alion” is considered a balanced hybrid, and if you complete a simple search you won’t find much about it. What we do know it that it is a cross between the Blue Dream Snoop Cut and Alien Kush F2. Consumers report it creating a very cerebral high where consumers report being extra creative, having the supreme giggles, being chill AF and just generally a good mood creator.
On first whiff, Alion drips of sweet floral, berries, and honeysuckle. It pulls you in with its wildly sweet scents and you know its going to be a fun high with terp profile that presents this way. The taste doesn’t disappoint either!
The best tasting modality for this strain we found is in the Volcano. The Volcano as per usual lets the terpenes truly shine bringing in a savory and sweet reminiscent of a mixed berry pie. The next most flavorful method of consumption would be a sparkly clean bowl, this just deepened the flavor and added nutty notes to the profile.
The high was phenomenal, a truly great daytime lets get some shit accomplished whilst giggling our asses off type strain. The initial feeling hits you right behind the eyes and I could feel it start to waken my dopaminergic systems as it brought on a smile I couldn’t let go of. I was able to function in my normal duties and I was happy to do them! Who doesn’t want to be happy while they work?
I did notice that this particular strain has some serious expectorant qualities that you should look out for. If you are vaping it you will likely be coughing and clearing out your lungs, its super nice yet annoying. I noticed this as well with the bong, bowl, and joint but it was truly most prevalent in the Volcano.
Old Pal I have to thank you for growing this strain they way you did, good effing job my friends! I have found Old Pal at Bloom Brothers in Pittsfield, Canna Provisions in Lee, and Silver Therapeutics in Williamstown. I highly suggest you go out and try them 😊
