Cannabis Grow Journal – Week 4 – Possible pH Issue

Hey there, everyone! It’s time for a quick check-in on our cannabis plants thriving in the once-dilapidated greenhouse. This morning, I stepped outside and observed some mild concerns but overall, everyone seems pretty happy.

Challenges Arise in the Cannabis Grow

One of the Unknowns is showing signs of pH issues, and this weekend I’ll be performing a soil slurry. I’ll make sure to document the process in a step-by-step blog and video. Maintaining a pH level between 6.0 and 6.5 is crucial for the plants to absorb the nutrients we carefully provide.

Another challenge I’ve noticed is with the Seedman Critical2.0 + seedling. It has been struggling, and I suspect it might be due to its status as a newer strain. I’ll conduct some research to determine if it’s from F1 genetics or if it’s more stable. The upward curling of its leaves, known as cupping, could be attributed to low lighting or inadequate water. In this case, I believe the excessive rain may have stressed it out. Fortunately, it’s the lower leaves and not the new growth, so time will tell.

There is still HOPE

On a positive note, everyone else in the greenhouse seems unbelievably happy. I’m genuinely pleased with the progress so far, considering the challenges autos pose and the mystery surrounding two of the seeds. Once the unknown strains grow sufficiently, I’m contemplating sending some leaf cuttings to a lab for genetic testing. It’s possible these seeds are around 5-15 years old, potentially harboring forgotten or lost genetics. If any exceptional strains emerge, I might just create some clones – now that would be worth writing home about!

Thanks to the abundant rain this week, I haven’t needed to water the plants. However, I plan on conducting a soil slurry this weekend to proactively address any potential issues. As always, thank you for joining me on this journey! Stay tuned, and don’t forget to check out the accompanying YouTube videos for my recent blog posts.
