Cannabis Grow Journal – Week 2 Seedlings!

This Post Contains Affiliates Link My Dudes and Dudettes – Just Trying to Keep the Lights On 🙂

Hello and welcome back everyone!!! This is your weekly update on the cannabis grow! If you didnt see how I started my seeds please check out last weeks blog Cannabis Grow Journal – Week 1 Seed Starting! I go over how I get my seeds started before they ever see soil.

Last week we discussed the seeds I was growing, to recap I have the Auto Critical + 2.0 from Seedsman Seed Co (Affiliate Link!), Auto Colorado Cookies and Auto Cinderella Jack from Dutch Passion. Those 3 seeds all were ordered from Seedsman, I also started 2 UnKnown’s from a family friend that could be 5-15 years old, and one Banana Kush seed from last year’s grow. (The Banana Kush was a stressed plant I rescued from a friend, so I’m not surprised I found a seed).

This week the seedlings received 1 tiny watering that was amended with plain Ph balanced water. The plants were good and wet from the popped seed being placed into the damp soil and being covered with plastic.

All of the seedling except 1 are doing really well. The Dutch Passion Auto Colorado Cookies seedling did not make it. The poor gal put out her cotyledons and then just utterly collapsed. Im not sure why, as she got the same treatment as all the others but I will say this. I love Dutch Passion Genetics, BUT I struggle with them. They are amazing genetics, and you know quickly if you will have a strong plant from seed. The issue I have is that about 20% of my Dutch Passion seedlings don’t make it past that.

I have been growing for several years and have used about 15 different seed brands over the years and have a 100% pop rate and success rate from there with other brands, but they just don’t yield the same way Dutch Passion seeds do. So, I keep growing Dutch Passion. I’m willing to lose a few seedlings if I know I LOVE genetics.

Back to what we were talking about. My Auto Colorado Cookie seed failed so I started over with this one. I didn’t use the paper towel method, I kind of said fuck it and just popped it into the wet soil I had the seedling in. WASTE NOT MY FRIENDS! lol. Now I wait patiently to see if this one comes out stronger than the last.

I am hoping that next week we will have some decent weather so I can get the gals outside. We have been getting daily rain and thunder here on the mountain, but no sunshine and I don’t wish to risk babies to the uncertain dark.

Thank you all for coming to hang with me. If you would like to see the videos I post on my grows please check out my YouTube Channel as I’m posting updated there on the greenhouse rehab and the grow! Please check out the photo carousel of the ladies below!

Much Love & Stay Groovy
